5 DAYS ANZAC DAY 2012 (Dawn & Anzac day service, Gallipoli Tour, Troy & Assos)

DAY 1  - ISTANBUL - GALLIPOLI    (24th April)

We will depart from Istanbul at 13:00. We will break time in the middle of the way for buying some nibblies for the night.

After arrive in Eceabat at 18:00, We will take Gallipoli goodies and home made pie. Then we will join the convoy for departure to the dawn service site.

DAY 2  - ANZAC DAY SERVICE    (25th April)

Dawn Service commences as the sun breaks the skyline behind the Turkish Sphinx at 05:30. After 07:30, while waiting for the services, you can take a walk around with your guide to see the ridges and old trenches or can have breakfast on the grass. (10:00 Australia service for Lone Pine, 12:30 New Zeland service for New Zeland Memorial)

Late Afternoon we will depart for Eceabat and will check in to your Hotel/Hostel

At night we will watch a movie about Gallipoli and then we have a party around town.

DAY 3  - GALLIPOLI TOUR    (26th April)

After breakfast, documentary: The Fatal Shore at 9:30

And after lunch, we will start our battlefield tour and will visit;

Kabatepe War Museum - Beach Cemetery (John Simpson's grave), ANZAC Cove, Ari Burnu (First ANZAC landing place) - Dawn Service Site - Lone Pine - Johnson's Jolly - Turkish memorial - The Nek - Chunuk Bair.

DAY 4  - TROY - ASSOS - ECEABAT   (27th April)

After breakfast, we will depart for Troy and Assos at 8:00.

We will visit the ancient city of Troy, Museum, Trojan horse, Walls of Troy VI, Temple of Athena, Schliemann's trench, The Odeon.

Then we will drive to Ancient city of Assos. We will visit Temple of Athena, Theatre and Harbour. The you can buy and have your lunch with view of the island of Lesvos.

We turn back to Eceabat for dinner and accomodation.

DAY 5  - BUS TO ISTANBUL  (28th April)

After breakfast, we will depart for Istanbul at 11:00. You can buy your lunch when we stop on the way. You will be in Istanbul in the evening.
