7 DAYS ANZAC DAY 2012 (Gallipoli, Dawn & Anzac day Service, Ephesus, Pamukkale)

 

 

DAY 1  - ISTANBUL - GALLIPOLI    (22nd April)

We will depart from Istanbul at 13:00. We will arrive in Eceabat at 16:00. Then we will check to our Hotel.  A welcome dinner and folk show are waiting for you.

DAY 2  - GALLIPOLI TOUR    (23rd April)

Today children's day celebration. This is good opportunity to see the traditional folklore. It starts at 9:00 am. After lunch, our tour starts. We will visit;

Kabatepe War Museum - Beach Cemetery (John Simpson's grave), ANZAC Cove, Ari Burnu (First ANZAC landing place) - Dawn Service Site - Lone Pine - Johnson's Jolly - Turkish memorial - The Nek - Chunuk Bair.

DAY 3  - GALLIPOLI    (24th April)

After breakfast, you can see the service in Cape Helles. Rest of day is free time. (You can take a walk around Eceabat or visit Troy city). 

At 18:00 we will check out from Hotel and will join the convoy to go to the Dawn service site.

DAY 4  - ANZAC DAY SERVICE    (25th April)

Dawn Service commences as the sun breaks the skyline behind the Turkish Sphinx at 05:30. After 07:30, while waiting for the services, you can take a walk around with your guide to see the ridges and old trenches or can have breakfast on the grass. (10:00 Australia service for Lone Pine, 12:30 New Zeland service for New Zeland Memorial)

Afternoon (around 14:00) lunch at restaurant back in town. We will depart for Kusadasi in the late afternoon.

DAY 5 - EPHESUS TOUR     (26th April)

Departure: 09:30     Return: 17:00

Artemis Temple, Ephesus Ruins (Theatre, Celsius Library, Agora, Odeon, Domitianus Temple, Trajan Fountain, Roman Latrine and more), Virgin Mary House.

DAY 6 - PAMUKKALE TOUR    (27th April)

Departure: 09:00     Return: 19:00

We will start at North gate of Hierapolis ancient city. Then we will visit the Necropolis (cemetery) with 1.200 graves, Roman Bath, Domitian Gate, the Main Street, Byzantine Gate. Then we will walk from the historical part to natural part of Pamukkale. We will walk to the warm water terrace which was shaped by calsium. Spring water's temperature is about 35ºC. The extraordinary effect is created when water from the hot springs loses carbon dioxide as it flows down the slopes, leaving deposits of limestone.

After lunch, If you like to swim in the Ancient Pool which is also called Cleopatra s Pool (entrance fee is not included into tour price). The Cleopatra Pool is warmed by hot springs and littered with underwater fragments of ancient marble columns.

You should take your towel, sun glasses and swimming suit.

Pamukkale and Hierapolis are in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

DAY 7 - ARRIVAL TO ISTANBUL (28th April)
