8 DAYS TREKKING KACKAR PLATEAUS (Mount Kackar Uplands Tour)

DAY 1 - SUMELA MONASTERY - AYDER UPLAND (PLATEAU)

Flight from Istanbul to Trabzon. Meeting your tour guide and drive to Macka. We will visit 4th century Sumela Monastery. After visiting, we will take lunch which involves local taste (Kaygana, kuymak, meatball, trout, rice pudding).

Then we drive to Firtina Valley which takes us to Ayder Plateau. Overnight at Ayder Plateau. You should go to sleep early. Because you need to rest for next few days :)

DAY 2 - KAVRON UPLAND (PLATEAU) - GLACIAL LAKES

After having breakfast, we drive to Upper Kavron Plateau. A little tea break in Kavron Plateau, trekking tour is beginning at last :) First destination is Glacial Lakes. We will walk 2-3 hours to reach lakes which is named Little Deniz, Great Deniz and Blacksea. We will have lunch over Lake view. Additional activity is swimming in the Lake :) We will go back on same route to Ayder. Overnight at Ayder Plateau.

DAY 3 - CINCIVA OLD BRIDGE - BELL CASTLE - PALOVIT WATERFALL - BOXWOOD FOREST

Today will be easier. But you will get more information about culture of Blacksea people.

We will drive along to Buyukdere Valley today. You will see old wooden and stone mansions in Ortan village, old stone bridges on the Firtina stream and Bell Castle where is located to overlook and protect Firtina Valley. At last we drive and walk to reach to Palovit Waterfall. You will have lunch near Waterfall.

What about 2000 years old Boxwood Forest? Just look outside after visiting castle :)

DAY 4 - AVUSOR UPLAND (PLATEAU) - GREAT LAKE

After the breakfast we'll drive to Avusor which is original laz people upland. You can see Mount Kemerli Kackar and Mount Altiparmak from this plateau. Then we will walk 2 hours to go to Avusor (Great) Lake. We'll have lunch near Lake. If you want you can swim again!

We will go back on different route to Ayder Plateau. Accommodation in Ayder.

DAY 5 - HUSER UPLAND (PLATEAU)

Huser upland is also called Mount Nemrut of Blacksea. Why? Because you can see the most popular peaks of Mount Kackar which include "Main Kackar", "Kemerli Kackar", "Altiparmak" and "Vercenik". We will walk the Huser hill's peak for obsevation other peaks and also take group photos. We will also have lunch on the peak.

We go back on different route to Ayder Plateau again. Accommodation in Ayder.

DAY 6 - POKUT & SAL UPLAND (PLATEAU)

Now, you know Avusor is most original laz people upland, Huser upland has a most beautiful view and next...

Pakut and Sal are most beautiful uplands around the Blacksea. We will get "special land truck" on to go to these uplands. We stop to collect likapa (local blackbarry) frequently.

After arriving we will walk around Pokut and Sal. We can also take best "cloud sea" photo from there. We'll have lunch at same place.

DAY 7 - GALLER DUZU - CEYMAKCUR UPLAND (PLATEAU)

Today we start to walk from our Hotel to Galler Duzu and continue to Ceymakcur Plateau. Lunch at Galler Duzu.

Tonight, time to show your talent on "Horon*". (You will take few short horon lesson during the tour from your Guide. Tonight is examination day :) ).

* Horon is a traditional local folklore dance.

DAY 8 - LEAVING DAY!

Today is transfer day from Ayder to Trabzon Airport. We hope to see you next year/tour :)
